About Movotivity
ONE on ONE Sessions
Co-creating our
journey together ...

The first time we chat, it's free! I offer a 20 minute free Clarity Consultation so that we can begin to get to know each other, and to get a sense about whether we will be a good fit. You'll have the opportunity to tell me about yourself and your concerns, and I can tell you how I envision our work together.
During this initial consultation, you probably should be wondering:
forward to meeting with?"
and
"Will she listen to me non-judgmentally
... with an open mind?"
Those are the most important criteria for selecting a coach or counselor or Life Sherpa. Everything else - skill, proficiency in techniques, experience - is important, but nothing is as important as those two things!
During our sessions we will be using a wide variety of practices to solve problems, to achieve goals, and to help turn your life around. As we work together I will also be teaching you to use these practices on your own. (See "What's In Our Mojo Bag?" for more information about these techniques.)
I do both long and short term work and give discounts to clients who pre-pay for Ongoing Mojotivity Packages. Packages include email support between sessions.

ONE on ONE
Mojotivity Sessions

Face to Face:
Among the advantages of in-person sessions are the presence of tea ... and of two helper cats.
When I first called Joan, I was having some very disconcerting hang-ups in the area of intimacy and sexuality.
Don't think I hadn't tried all sorts of stuff! Sex therapy was horrible - very mechanical - "Do this, do that." It didn't address any of my underlying emotional issues and I didn't feel understood at all.
I tried taking supplements, but they had no visible effect.
Although traditional psychotherapy had helped me through other issues, when I talked to my therapist about this problem, I ended up feeling worse: smaller, awkward, even more self-conscious than before.
Trying to talk myself out of my hang-ups also made things worse - "just do it" didn't do it.
When I originally started working with Joan, it was for a different sort of problem, but we were making so much progress on that, that I thought maybe she could help me on this too. (I wasn't very hopeful, but it was worth asking.)
Joan immediately put me at ease. She reframed the problem in such a way that I was able to get a whole new, lighter and more helpful perspective on it.
After talking with Joan, the shame was gone. I felt relieved and relaxed, and I was able to laugh about it. You might even say that I got my mojo back!

By phone:
Phone sessions work out better than you might expect: for some reason, when we can't see each other, we seem to be able to hear with a third ear. Or is it with a third eye?
Via Skype:
Skype is an on-line phone service with video included. This means that we can do long-distance sessions, and still see each other. We can show each other things, like our pets, our artwork, and our new hair style. Most important, we can see each other's facial expressions.
Basic Skype happens on your computer, doesn't use your phone, and is free. (You can also Skype using your phone, but there's a fee for that, and you don't get the video.) Check out Skype .
Laser sessions:
No, I don't use a laser beam! Laser sessions are one shot *events* which are designed to bring about an immediate breakthrough. Although laser sessions can lead to ongoing work, the goal is not to lay the groundwork for an ongoing relationship, but to deal with something very specific very quickly.
Examples of recent Laser Sessions:
- helping someone get over fear of flying two days before she had to fly to NY
- helping someone who had to make a fast decision whether to take a job offer in New Zealand
Because of the intensity of Laser Sessions, they are priced higher than regular sessions.
Wow! I am amazed at the results of my laser session with Joan. Stunned is more like it. I had a life-long pattern that I had not completely understood -- and it was greatly inhibiting my productivity.
In just minutes, Joan, in her unique mojoliciousness, put the puzzle pieces together in a whole new way that left me not only awestruck, but in deep understanding of myself. It left me laughing!
Do you know when your mental landscape has been so reoriented that you can never go back because you have been enlightened and changed in the process? Well, that's what happened to me.
I believe Joan is a master artisan of the spirit, and her "art" enriches the masterpiece that is you.
Before my session I admit I looked at all these great testimonials on her site and thought could she really be this good?
After my time with Joan, my answer is ...
a resounding, "Yes!"

Extended Sessions:
Extended Sessions are longer sessions for clients who want to get the ball rolling faster, to jump-start ongoing work, to facilitate a big breakthrough, learn DIY self therapy techniques ... or for clients who want to work in person but who don't live nearby, and would like to minimize the driving.
(For example, some clients prefer to do monthly Extended Sessions instead of weekly, or bi-weekly 60 or 90 minute sessions.)

Joan, I used to get so many boring newsletters
in my in box
that I finally unsubsubscribed to
most of them.
What I like about

is that you don't send it out

I've benefited so much
from your articles.
And I've saved them all
to read again when I feel
as if my mojo is slipping.
